Goals and Tasks
Since its establishment in 2015, the Leibniz Research Alliance INFECTIONS has relied on the cooperative interdisciplinarity of the Leibniz Institutes and will continue to use its pooled knowledge, expertise and technologies to create synergies, strategies and network structures for joint infection research. The aim of the joint research is to better understand antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and to curb its spread. The following questions are at the forefront:
- What are the causes of the spread of antimicrobial resistance?
- How great is the risk to human health from the spread of antimicrobial resistance from the environment, animal husbandry and wildlife?
- What strategies can be used to limit the transmission of antimicrobial resistance?
